Hillview Resource Centre and Ballinteer Community School joined up on Friday 16th March to provide TY students with a workshop on mental health & wellbeing. In addition See Change and Shout Out joined in with workshops around issues affecting young people and this provided an opportunity for students to discuss various issues with each other and feedback to the larger group. Niall Nolan from Tusla came to deliver a mindfulness taster, which helped the TY students relax after a busy morning. Hillview would like to thank the staff (especially John O’Donovan) and Dermot McCarthy who was our resident Counsellor for the morning and joined in on facilitating the workshops too; Dermot’s counselling service is based at Hillview on Thursday afternoons and his company is called ‘Inner Voice’ – check our Life Skills & Counselling page for more information.
Hillview will be offering a ‘Cool Dudes’ healthy eating course for children aged 9-12 years shortly. Contact Katie on 087 195 7419 to register! 🙂

A garden is being built at Ramblers (Preschool) and this will enable children to enjoy being outside. The old shed that took up all the garden space is being removed and a roofed garden will be available for children from October 2017. Thanks to local donations and the DLR County Council for the funding to enable us to carry out this important work.
Staff have been trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and can speak with any family member or person about keeping them safe. Please pop in or call us on 01 296 5025 for assistance.
